DUCTILE IRON

Iron when treated with magnesium before being cast produces castings of high strength and impact resistance. Iron treated with magnesium causes graphite to precipitate as spheroids.

GRADES

D18: Maximum impact strength, sub cero applications.
D12: Is the most commonly used grade in parts subject to impact and cyclic loads.
D06: Improved wear strength, adequate response to flame and induction hardening.
D03: Excellent combination of tensile strength, wear resistance and surface hardening.
